This is, hands down, one of the most (if not, THE most) flavorful backpacking meals I've ever eaten. It was VERY easy to prepare, even in the dark by headlamp, and the results were amazing. The serving I had said it's for "Hungry Single (1-2)," and they weren't kidding. After a long day of quick-paced hiking with a decently heavy load (on a solo backpacking trip), I was absolutely famished by the time I got my campsite set up for the night. I have a pretty healthy appetite for a guy my size (5'9" 150lbs), and after munching on some snacks while this was cooking, this meal definitely filled me up.
For it's size (4.5 oz) the caloric content (517.5) is comparable to most other dehydrated meals you might have (ex. Mountain House Pro-Pack Beef Stew is 525 calories in the pouch), which makes it a viable alternative for vegetarians to pack a compact meal, but still gain the nutritional benefits that their non-veggie counterparts would enjoy. Here's the kicker, though... I'm not a vegetarian, and I still preferred this over every other meal pre-packaged I've had on the trail, EVER. It really tastes THAT good.
This company's dedication to providing high quality, easy-to-prepare backpacking meals is inspiring. I am most definitely going to be ordering more of their meals. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! See for yourself!!
Thank you, Outdoor Herbivore!

A diverse group, older mom and dad, 20 year old carnivore and vegan, we all loved this dinner. It was our favorite. Added more water and cooked longer than instructions called for. Added chicken for the carnivores.

This was a favorite meal for myself, my husband, my carnivore son and his vegan friend. Added chicken for the carnivores. Very satisfying and tasty.

I liked the blackened quinoa although it was spicier than I expected. I think I would like this on a longer backpacking trip.
Good job OH!
