These are an excellent addition to soups, rice meals, pasta, and dips. To prepare chickpeas, add an equal amount of beans and hot water and reconstitute for 3-5 minutes. No stove? You can also use cold water and rest for 10 minutes. Chickpeas are a rich source of complex carbohydrates, which the body slowly digests and uses for energy without spiking blood sugar levels. Preparation: Boil 1 cup of water for every 1 cup of beans. Bring water to a boil, stir in beans, turn off heat, keep covered and let stand 3-5 minutes. Add more water for a thinner consistency. Can also be prepared as no-cook.
