Our bulk instant organic refried pinto beans (frijoles refritos) are fully cooked, dried, and seasoned for instant rehydration. Use as a dip, burrito/taco filler, or add to rice. The entire 16 oz. package makes 5 1/2 to 6 cups of prepared refried beans. To prepare, reconstitute for 3 to 5 minutes with hot water. No stove? You can also use cold water and rest for 10 minutes. Pinto beans, like other legumes, are a rich source of complex carbohydrates, which the body slowly digests and uses for energy without spiking blood sugar levels. Preparation: Boil 1 cup of water for every 1 cup of beans. Bring water to a boil, stir in beans, turn off heat, keep covered and let stand 3-5 minutes. Add more water for a thinner consistency. Can also be prepared as no-cook.
